V.M.C.A. CRICKET CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A4 Cricket Club was held in the social hall of the Association last evening. Mr C..W; Hemery presided, and there were about 40 members present. The annual report stated that the first and second elevens had improved in their play, taking second and third places respectively. Altogether 27 cup matches were played, 14 being won, 12 lost, and 1 drawn. Twenty outside matches had been rjlayed, and 14 of these were won by the club. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance, while the assets were valued at £14. Club trophies were won by the following members:—First eleven: Batting, C. Hemery, 24.93; bowling1, R. Wheatley, 6.75. Second eleven: Batting, G. Strange 15.86; bowlingi HShepherd, 7.83. An embroidered sash, presented by Mrs Bottril, was won by C. Johnston for the greatest number of catches in the second eleven. .A bat was presented to th© secretary, Mr C. Hemery, jun., by Mf Bottril, on behalf of the club, for services rendered. Over 30 new members were electee*. Last year's officers were re-elected, Messrs E. Gash, H. Debaugh, G. Stephenson, and W. G. Bell being added to the genera] committee. It was decided to submit a team to the Association for senior ranks, in addition to three junior teams. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
