STEADY INCREASE

WELLINGTON,. Tuesday.
The total gold yield of the colony for Aug-ust was 35,5310z, of the value of £143,404, as against 34,4460z, of the value of £133,522, for the corresponding month last year. The increase for the eight months of the present year is G9,1320z, of the value of £202,450. Last month's yield in the Auckland district was valued at £64,520; Otago, £46,400; Greymouth and Westport, £27,041. The yield of silver last month was 25,2290z, valued at £2,908, all of which is from Auckland mines.
