MAY QUEEN COMPANY.
CREDIT BALANCE OF ABOUT
£10,000.
Following upon the reconstruction of the Moanataiari and Tararu Creek Companies came a fear in some quarters that the May Queen of Hauraki Company would follow the example of the others. This feeling causing timid holders to sell in a bad market no doubt had something to do with the recent decline in the price of May Queen shares. Those price of May Queen shares. Those better acquainted with the real position of the Company were however, aware there was still a large balance to the credit of the Company, and In order to get definite information upon the subject, a "Star" representative waited upon Mr H. A. Gordon, Attorney of the Company. Mr Cordon stated that the May Queen Company still possesses a credit balance of about £10,000, so that the rumours of possible reconstruction were entirely without any reasonable grounds. The value of the Cardigan property, recently acquired, is shown by the fact that a crushing- of 17 tons of ore from that sretion of the May Queen Company's property has yielded bullion worth £168 13/S, being an average value per ton of £9 10/, which must be considered very satisfactory.
