VOLUNTEER NOTES.
» The Thames Naval Volunteers visited Auckland on Saturday evening at the invitation of the Ponsonby Navals. They were entertained during the evening- at a smoke concert in the j Drill Hall, tendered by the Ponsonby and Devonport Navals. Captain I Parker, officer commanding the lastI named corps, presided, and a most | enjoyable evening was spent. Yesteri day morning the three corps, accom- ] ! panied by the No. 2 Native Eifles and j the Garrison Band, attended church ' parde at St. Paul's, under command of Captain Potts, of the Thames Navals. There was a large muster, the i parade-state being: Thames Navals 66, Ponsonby Navals 65, DeI vonport Torpedo Corps 50, No. 2 Natives 36, Garrison Band 20. The Rev. Canon Nelson conducted the service. The visitors were taken for a ' drive in the afternoon, and left abo\xt ] midnight lor the Thames. !3ofß 9toC
