This mine continues to look well, and a large block has been opened up ready for stoping. The winze is down 60 feet, but further sinking and. rising will be necessary before the different workings can be connected with the low level. The site selected for the battery is adjacent to the low level. GRACE DARLING. No time is being lost by the Directors of the Grace Darling Company in pushing forward works in connection with the battery. The tender of Mr J, M. McKay and party has been accepted for the supply of sawn timber, and that of Messrs Reid and.Brewnett for ' excavating the battery site, and that of Mr H. Beeson for the construction of the water race.
