Ministers have been in Cabinet since Saturday discussing the Financial Statement, which is now understood to be well in hand. Its heading feature will probably be loan proposals, and it is surmised authority to borrow a million will be asked. It is expected the Statement will be brought down on Friday night. It is understood that neither Mr Wilson (Wellington Suburbs) nor Mr Duthie (Wellington) will seek re-elecjtion. Mr W. F. Buckland has intimated to the Opposition that he. will contest the Manukau seat.
