A very unuual case was before the S.M. to-day. R. S. Henry and J. A. Coogan were charged with conspiracy as to the alleged "ringing in"- of a mare called Ethel, alias Virgil, alias Cupid, at Ashburton in May, 1898, and these two, with W. A. Donald, were charged with conspiracy in attempting to obtain money by false pretences in the same way at-the Opunaki moving. The case is expected to last all r .
