A very unuual case was before the S.M. to-day. R. S. Henry and J. A. Coogan were charged with conspiracy as to the alleged "ringing in"- of a mare called Ethel, alias Virgil, alias Cupid, at Ashburton in May, 1898, and these two, with W. A.
