MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT
(To the Editor.) Sir, —On June 28 a letter from me was published in the -'Star," statingthat Air James Taylor had not been married at Bishopscourt on June 23 iby the Bishop of Auckland, as had I been announced in the "Star." On July 4 a letter was published in the "Star" from Mr J. Taylor, who "should like to inform Mr Cowie that there happen to be two worthy Bishops in our fair community," implying that the .Roman Catholic Bishop performed the ceremony of marriage in the case referred to. I was not, Mr Editor, ignorant of the existence of a Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, nor of the further fact that on the day on which Mr Taylor was said to have been married at Bishopscourt, Bishop Lenihan was not in New Zealand.—l am, etc., ARTHUR P. COWIE, Bishop's Secretary.
