The annual tea of the Church of Christ was .held in the West-street Church last evening-. The buildingwas full to overflowing, and the boun-tifully-spread tables had to be replenished a second time. The tables were presided over by the ladies of the church, who took care that everybody was satisfied. The after-meet-ingl was a very enjoyable one. Mr Geo. Aldridge. presided. Speeches were given by Messrs Carr, French, Dixon, Donaldson, and Wilcock; Mr King and Mrs Ward sang solos, and the choir contributed three anthems. Everything passed off well, and this, the first social gathering of the kind in the new building, will be long remembered by those present. A pathetic incident took place at the meeting. ■ The Chairman stated that he had received a message from Mr Firth, from his sick bed, saying that he remembered his brethren at this time, and desired to be remembered by them.
