COROMANDEL.

BLAGROVE'S FREEHOLD.

It is expected the water will be lifted out of this mine shortly, after which vigorous development works will be proceeded with. •

FAME AND FORTUNE.

During the past month 174 loads of ore from the Fame and Fortune mine were crushed for a return of bullion worth £563 11/.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

Mr Kersey Cooper informs me that the Fame and Fortune mine (late llauraki Golden Age) is being formed into a company, tht success of which he considers should be guaranteed, when it is considered that the property has been well reported on by experts. It is gratifying to kriow that the development work instituted by Mr Cooper has such good promise of being floated.

FOUR-IN-HAND,

During the last month 60 tons of ore were treated by the Four-in-Hand Company for a return of bullion valu« ed at £351.

BUNKER'S HILL. The prospects of this Coromandel mine are very encouraging. Frequently parcels of specimen stone have been obtained during- tie month, some of which were exceedingly rich. From its proximity to the Hauraki mine, it is possible that important developments may take place when the shaft is low enough and the reef is opened out upon. GOLDEN HILL (MANAIA). The battery connected with this mine has started crushing operations for the tributers, who have a large quantity of good general ore on hand, which it is anticipated will take some time to treat. The lodes now being worked continue to yield excellent prospects. HAEBOUR VIEW. The annual general meeting of shareholders in the Harbour ViewGold Mining Company was held in Mr J. H. Harrison's office. Mr Andrew Bell. presided. The balance sheet showed total receipts £707 0/4, of which £395 1/9 was gold won by tributers, and of that 10 per cent, went to the credit of the Company. The expenditure left a credit balance of £256 7/9. The report was adopted, and the retiring directors, Messrs Bell and Henderson were re-elected. HAURAKI SOUTH. Warner and party of tributers in the Hauraki South mine, Coromandel, had 11 loads of ore treated at the Thames for a return of bullion valued at £30. HAURAKIRETURN. The Hauraki Company crushed 160 tons of quartz and treated 94lbs of picked stone for the return of 3500zs ldwt of melted bullion, value £1030 6/6. KAPANGA RETURN. During the past month 37 tons of quartz and 531bs of picked stone were treated by the company for a return of 470z 13 dwt of gold value £239 11/5. ROYAL OAK. At this Coromandel mine. 100 tons of quartz and 52 lbs of picked stone were treated for a return of 56ozs of retorted bullion of the estimated value of £ 135. NEW FIND IN SCOTTY'S MINE. What may prove an important discovery has been made .during the past monih in Scotty's mine at Coromandol, a small packet of ore having" been met with which produced 15lbs of fair picked stone. The find was made in Corby's level in the drive southwards. This is the first gold found in this mine below the point where Scotty's reef altered its dip. The leader part of the reef is about one foot in thickness.
