GRACE DARLING.
OFFER TO RENEW THE OPTION
The directors of the Grace Darling Company have received a cable from London stating that the holders of the option that recently lapsed were prepared to make a firm offer within a month for the property on the same terms as those on which option was held formerly. After careful deliberation the directors unanimously decided that it would be in the best interests of the shareholders to refuse the offer, and continue the scheme for equipment and development already resolved upon.
Mr C. Scherer, engineer to the Grace Darling Company, has called tenders for excavating 300 yards for the new mill site,' and for constructing 50 chains of mill fluming. Tenders are also called by the same company for supplying 80,000 feet sawn timber, so that the work of erecting additional vats and enlarging the battery will be proceeded with at once.
