G W. Binney & Sons" monthly report:— At each weekly sale we have cleared large catalogues of hides, sheepskins, tallow, bones etc. Hides: Competition brisk throughout. Extra stout ox sold from 040 to 6Jd; stout, 4Jd to M; medium 4Jd to 4Jd; light, 4d; cow, picked, 4Jd to -W; K ood Hues from 3fd to 4d; wet, B|d to B|d; kips 3;|d to 4d; calf, 4}d to sld; cut and amagod at low figures. Sheepskins: Fine adduced; coarse are slightly easier: green and salted coarse largo skins, 4/3 to 4/b. ordinary, 8/6 to 3/8; line from 3/6 to 4/.i; picked .up to 5/6 each; dry skins from 3d to 44d per lb. Tallow: Picked, 20/ to 21/ pood ordinary, 17/ to 18/; medium 13/ to 15/6; inferior, 10/ to 12/ per cwt; rough fat, Id to lid per lb. Hair: Horse tails, 1/3 to 1/4; mane, lOd to 10id per lb; cow tails, 1/9 to 1/10 per doz. Bones, £3 to £ -i 10/ peW ton. Messrs Hunter • and Nolan's report:— Horses: Those of a decent stamp were required, and fully maintained the previous week's values. About the usual numbers were brought forward, and found purchasers at the. Durham Yards on Friday, but were mostly of a light class, for which bidding lacked spirit, but for other stamps was brisk. We quote: Heavy draught, at from £20 to £35; medium draught, from £U to £21 10/; light harness, £5 to £12 10/; hacks. £3 to £9 10/. Wool, hides, skins, tallow ,bones: There was a brisk demand for all lines, and quite average quantities were disposed of. Extra stout ox hides at from o,!d to 6Jd; stout ox, 4id to sd; steer and cow. Sid to 4d; stags", 2id to 3d; kip, 3Jd to 4d- calfskins, 2Jd to 4id lb; bones, £3 to £3 5/ ton; tallow, 12/6 to 17/6 cwt; sheepskins, 1/4 to 4/11; pelts, 3d to 1/1; wool, lone 4d to 4Jd; crossbred, s|d to 5Jd; merino' 64d; pieces, 3d to 3*d lb. Cattle: There was a very good muster at Newman-1-et on Tuesday, and spirited bidding throughout the sale. The midwinter sale was held at Papakura on Wednesday, the yards being well filled and an advance on Newmarket rates being given. Ox beef sold at*from 18/ to £1 1001b; cow, 15/ to IS/; fat steers, from £6 15/ to £12 10/ each; all exceptionally good draft averaged £9 10/3; fat cows, -£4 to £5 17/6; dairy cows, from £3 17/6 to £6 7/6; dry cows, £1 10/ to £2; there was no noteworthy alteration in the value of stores. Sheep were penned in increased numbers, and well competed for. Wethers at from 11/9 to 17/3 each; ewes, 8/ to 13/9; mixed sexes, 10/9 to 12/6; hogsrets 6/ to 12/6. Pigs: Few brought forward; fully maintained the previous week's values.
