About the usual numbers were brought forward, and found purchasers at the. Durham Yards on Friday, but were mostly of a light class, for which bidding lacked spirit, but for other stamps was brisk. We quote: Heavy draught, at from £20 to £35; medium draught, from £U to £21 10/; light harness, £5 to £12 10/; hacks. £3 to £9 10/. Wool, hides, skins, tallow ,bones: There was a brisk demand for all lines, and quite average quantities were disposed of. Extra stout ox hides at from o,!d to 6Jd; stout ox, 4id to sd; steer and cow. Sid to 4d; stags", 2id to 3d; kip, 3Jd to 4d- calfskins, 2Jd to 4id lb; bones, £3 to £3 5/ ton; tallow, 12/6 to 17/6 cwt; sheepskins, 1/4 to 4/11; pelts, 3d to 1/1; wool, lone 4d to 4Jd; crossbred, s|d to 5Jd; merino' 64d; pieces, 3d to 3*d lb. Cattle: There was a very good muster at Newman-1-et on Tuesday, and spirited bidding throughout the sale. The midwinter sale was held at Papakura on Wednesday, the yards being well filled and an advance on Newmarket rates being given. Ox beef sold at*from 18/ to £1 1001b; cow, 15/ to IS/; fat steers, from £6 15/ to £12 10/ each; all exceptionally good draft averaged £9 10/3; fat cows, -£4 to £5 17/6; dairy cows, from £3 17/6 to £6 7/6; dry cows, £1 10/ to £2; there was no noteworthy alteration in the value of stores.
