DEVONPORT YESTERDAY CHURCH.

The quarterly meeting of the Devonport Wesleyan Circuit was held last evening, when there was a good attendance of church officers. The Rev. C. E. Beecroft. report.;*! an increase of eight church members, with a similar addition to the number of communicants, and fourteen on trial for church membership. The Circuit Stewards, Messrs P. 11. Mason dud L. Hames, had the pleasure of presenting a most satisfactory balance-sheet for the quarter. Besides completing 'he purchase of a bicycle for the minister's use, and meeting other extra expenditure, they were enabled to increase the stipend by £20 a year, and carry forward a credit balance of £1 4/. Sunday school returns indicated steady work amongst the young. Congregations were keeping up well throughout the circuit, and a spirit oE unity prevailed in every place. The removal of the NortLcote Church to the site given by Mr Thomas Buddie had been attended by quickened interest and success in Hie work there. Total promised to the Century Fund thus far for the Circuit was £341. Arrangements were made for a mission by the Rev. D. O'Domiell at Devonport from July 30th to August 10th, and the Supei'intendent intimated his purpose of conducting an open air service on Saturday evenings.
