WAIKATO HOSPITAL BOARD.

The Waikato Hospital Board met at the Council Chambers, Hamilton, on Thursday.

The police having reported the case of an old man named McQrain, un old age pensioner of JN'garuawhia, who was laid up in bed without anyone to take charge of him, the Board decided to pay an old man 5/ a week to attend to the sufferer.

The Orphan Home authorities wrote explaining that they drew no subsidy whatever from the Government towards the support of the inmates of the institution. The Board, after some consideration, agreed to contribute the same amount as the Auckland Board, £2/10, towards the outfit, of any child leaving the Home.

The Secretary was requested to supply the Registrar of Pensions with information as to the number of pensions granted to men previously a charge upon the Board's finances and the saving thereby affected by the Board.
