HAWKE'S BAY J.C. WINTER ; -MEETING. TO-DAY'S NOTES. (By Telegraph— Press Asseeiation.) NAPIER, this day.

The tracks were in fine order this morning, and all competitors were out. Pansy covered a fast round, H.M.s. Pinafore accompanying her the first part, and Lady Helen picked her up in the last four furlongs. Both finished together. K. Jam and Gorse went two circuits at three-quarter pace. Social Pest was sent three 1 miles at good half-pace. Blackberry, Kauri Gum and Hilda 11. covered three miles at sound three-quarter pace. Ruby and Jerry together went once round at half pace, and one strong round, the latter having the best of it at the finish. Tim and Kanaka were restricted to half pace work. Tataramoa and Mistify went two miles, the first at half pace and the second at top, finishing1 together. Castashore and Eirst Blood galloped a good mile, both going well. Straybird and Thrush were sent a mile and a half over the little sticks, both jumping well. The probable starters and rMes for the Hawke's Bay Hurdles on Wednesday are: —Social Pest (Clarke), Nor'-West (Hall), Tim (S. Fergus), Kanaka (J. Katterns), Tally-ho (Redmond), Hussar (Williams), Straybird (Morrigan), Hangfire (Coehrane), En Avant (Witchell), and Troubadour. The weather is overcast to-day. There is every appearance of more rain. DEATH OP RODDY MoIVOR. A Press Association cablegram from Adelaide to-day announces the dfinth of Roddy Mclvor, who nt one time trained and owned racehorses in New Zealand.
