WAIKATO NOTES.

The annual meeting of the Hamilton Football Club was held last evening' There were about 20 present, and tha President, Mr Geo. Edgecumbe, occupied the chair. The Hon. Secretary, Mr A Peacocke, read the report and balance sheet. The former showed that the Club last season had played nine matches winning seven, drawing one and losing one. thereby winning the championship for IS9S. In these matches the Club scored SG points, while 12 were scored against them. Owing to the non-payment of subscriptions the Club was unable to meet its liabilities, which however amounted to two or three pounds only. The officers oj the Club for the ensuing year were then elected, Mr G. Edgecumbe being reap, pointed president; Mr G. Dodd was chosen as secretary; and Messrs Rj Gwynne, A. Heather, A. Peacock and R. Pike selection committee. The opening of the season was fixed for Saturday next, when a practice mutch will be held.
A sitting of the Assessment Court for the Borough of Hamilton was held hers to-day. There were very few objection^ and several small ones were settled out oj court. The following however were dealt with:—Bank of New Zealand, rateable value, £190; valuation sutained; John Bett'ley, part lot 84, Victoria-st., rateable value, £100, reduced to £00; John Bunting; acre and dwelling, Hamilton East, rateable value, £15, reduced to £S; lot 404;: rateable value, £7 10/, reduced to £6. OHAUPO, Wednesday/ A meeting of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at Ohaupo yesterday. The following gentlemen were elected as an executive: Messrs N. I. Hunt, E. B. Cox, R. Reynolds, C. F, Storey, Jos. Barugh, J. C. Allen and M, G. Farrer. Mr M. Butler was re-appointed, secretary. A general committee meeting was arranged to be held at Frankton at 10 a.m. on April 20th.
