ADMIRAL PEARSON INTERVIEWED.
SYDNEY, this day
Admiral Pearson, when interviewed in regard to Samoa, said so far he had taken no further action than to despatch H.M.s. Torch, which carried a large supply of ammunition. The difficulty, he said, had "been want of unity of action on the part of the nations concerned, but. the American forces had been perfectly co-oper-ating with the British. It was a serious business, but he could not say what course would be pursued from here.
Admiral Pearson said H.M.s. Royal Arthur, the flagship, would not leave for Samoa so far as he could see at present.
