About eleven hundred volunteers of the Auckland district are at present under canvas at Potter's Paddock and the North Shore, for their annual Easter training. A detailed account of the camp and the Easter manoetivres will be found on page 3 of this

THE NORTH SHORE CAMP,
In connection with the section -of the volunteer force in camp at the North. Shore Forts, Captain G. W. S. Patterson is in command of the Ponsonby Naval Artillery at Fort Cautley, with Lieuts. Watson and Spinley. Capt. Potts is in charge of the Thames Navals, and Lieut. Lucas of the Haurakl Rifles.
There were three night attacks on Fort Takapuna last night, one bysea, the steamer Isabel being the foe. and two land attacks on the rear of the Fort by infantry coming in from Lake Takapuna. The Coastguard Artillery, under Capt. Napier, slept in their clothes at intervals, bwt were up nearly all night. To-day was devoted to "big gun drill at the forts, signalling, range-finding', ammunition supply, and Maxim gun practice. Tomorrow there will be a Church parade at Devonport, headed by the band of the Thames Navals.
