GOVERNOR AND PREMIER.
This morning Hie Right. Hon. R. J. Seddon. accompanied by his private secretary, Mi- Crowe, arrived in the Manukau by the s.s. Takapuna. He came on to town by train, aud drove to the Star Hotel," where he transacted private business and saw different persous. On the Premier's return from the North lie will in all probability deliver a public address in Auckland.
At 12.30 Lord Ranfurly and suite, accompanied by the Hon. J. Carroll, left for Helensville by special tram. Press reperesentatives also accompany the party.
At 12.30 Lord Ranfurly and Captain Alexander, accompanied by the Premier and the Hon. J .Carroll, left for Helensville by special train; also Colonel Pole-Penton and Bore Kukutai. Press representatives also accompanied the party. Mr A. Grant, the popular local traffic manager, went up in. charge of the train.
On the platform to see the party oil' were Mr Trask (Mayor ol' kelson). Messrs. .J. Tl. Witheford, F. Lawrv. M.H.R., Hon. W. T. Jennings, Henare Kaihu, and others.
At an early hour this morning Captain Dudley Alexander, Mr Hill Trevor, and Captain Wellesley left the Manukau in the s.s. Tutanekai for Helensville. where they join Lord Ranfurly and Captain- 'Alexander.
