WHAKAPIRAU.
On the 2nd inst. a meeting of the Te I'ahi School Committee was held. The committee noted with great pleasure that one girl attending the No. 1 school had gained a certificate of merit at the recent District Scholarship Examination; also that three pupils attending the same school had obtained three first prizes for industrial work at the Paparoa Agricultural and Industrial Show; thirdly that a girl in the Fifth Standard at the No. 2 school had gained first prize for writing against competitors from various parts of the county at jtlje Otamatea Agricultural and Industrial Show held on the Ist inst.
