THE OVALAU.
The s.s. Ovalau. from the Society and Cook Groups, arrived at 5 a.m. to-day. .Mr J. A. Tubby, the purser, reports: The Ovalau left Auckland on 17th ult., reached Russell next morning, leaving again at 5 p.m.; arrived Rarotonga 5.30 a.m. on 25th, left same date 5 p.m., reached Tahiti 3 a.m." on 28th, departed from, that port 0 a.m. 30th, anchored Rarotonga 1 p.m. on Ist inst., left for Auckland 9 p.m. same day. Experienced strong E.S.E. winds from Rarotonga to within 450 miles of New Zealand coast, followed with strong ■westerly wind with high sea to arrival.
