Per Ovalau, s.s., from Eastern Pacific: Cl 9 kits 482 bunches bananas, 1418 sacks copra, 7S casks limejuice, 82 cases fruit, 13 sacks coffee, 158 casks and cases mother of pearl shell, 8 kegs vanilla, 38 sacks cocoanuts, and sundries.
The s.s. Elingamite left for the South shortly after G p.m. yesterday.
The steamer Kia Ora sailed for way ports and Napier last evening. ■ ■The ketch Envy left Tairua yesterday for- Sydney with a cargo of timber. The loading- of the barque Star of the East .with kauri gum was commenced this morning. The schooner Jessie Niccbl arrived at the Thames yesterday to load timber at Tairua for Lyttelton.
Owing to bad weather the departure of the s s Gairloch for New Plymouth has been postponed until 10.30 a.m. to-morrow.
The barque Peru, with a full cargo of gum and iiax for New York, went to an anchorage in the stream this morning, and will shortly sail. •
The Colbert, from France, arrived at Papeete, Tahiti, on December 21, after a passage of '120. days. The schooner City of Papeete left Tahiti for San Francisco on December 15.
The barque Veritas has been purchased by the Westport Coal Company to act as a'coal hulk at this port. She is now on the voyage from Melbourne to Newcastle to load coal for Auckland,
