THE SHAREMARKET.
N.Z. Crown shares further advanced in price on the Exchange to-day, 15/6 being offered, but was pot accepted, sales having been made privately at higher figures. Woodstocks were again wanted at S/ but the lowest quoted seller wanted 10/. Waihi Silvertons had steady enquiry at 5/. Talismans were* not quite so -firm, 14/3 Being the best offer. Alphas ' maintained yesterday's rise, 3/2 being again offered. May Queen also had buyers at 5/9. Enquiry was made today for Victorans at 4d; Kuranuis at 6d; and Grace Darlings at 6d. Great Barrier shares had an upward tendency to-day, buyers'advancing to 2/S. Standard stocks showed little alteration. Northern Steam were still wanted at 8/; and N.Z. Shipping- at 94/. The demand for shares in Coal Companies does.not seem quite so strong!, although the recent advances have been fairly well maintained.
