THE EXHIBITION.

LAST FORTNIGHT ANNOUNCED,

The last fortnight of the season of the Auckland Exhibition is announced. To-night in the Choral Hall will be exhibited by Messrs J. Budd and C. E. Browne Edison's latest cinematograph. A children's afternoon is announced for to-morrow. There will be a ballad concert in the evening. On Saturday afternoon next special attractions will be given at a children's afternoon. _ The garden concert at the Exhibition last evening was a great success. Fairy lamps had been hung all along the face of the building, and strings of coloured lights and Chinese lanterns stretched from tree to tree in the grounds, the result being a most beautiful display. During the evening the Garrison Band performed various selections, which added to the enjoyment of the large gathering of ladies and gentlemen. MENNIE AND DAY'S EXHIBIT. In making the award the judges appended the following:—'After great painstaking and a critical examination of this exhibit (lasting four days) including biscuits consisting of 100 kinds, we award first prize and gold medal. Confectionery.—The general exhibit .of confectionery is most excellent for quality, variety, and display, and would be difficult to beat or surpass, and deserve the highest award and gold medal.' . The pavilion, which is quite a work of art and beauty, was erected by the Kauri Timber 'Co. The show of animals, which is remarkable and unique, forms quite an object lesson, especially for young folks, and will not be easily forgotten, BALLAD CONCERT. A most attractive programme has been prepared for the Ballad 'Concert to-morrow, Wednesday evening. Miss Stella Alexander, winner of the Exhibition gold medal for violinists, makes her first appearance, and .Mr Edgar Walton, the holder of the Exhibition silver medal, appears at these concerts for the first time. Mr Walter Ivirby, who has so firmly established himself amongst, the musical people of the city, will contribute two songs. Madam Chambers and Madam Dti Rieu will also take part in the programme.

Auckland Gas Company, Ist award for general collection, embracing gas log fire, gas rings, tailors' iron-heater, incandescent lights (all patterns, gas retort and bellows for testing, and gas brackets. Parsons and Nelson (Baker street, Auckland), Ist award and special mention for patent 'instantaneous waterheater.' PRIME-MOVERS AND ACCESSORIES Judges, Alessrs A. V. Alacdonakl and T. T. Alasefield. Hadley and Co., Ist award for Hancock inspirators, locomotive types A and C, and stationary patterns of all sizes; also jet pumps, manufactured by the Hancock Inspirator Co., Boston. John Burns and Co., Ist award for Blake's improved directing and duplex boiler-feeding and pressure pumps. John Burns and Co., 2nd award for Snow duplex pumps for boiler-feeders, mining, irrigating, draining, marine, and similar purposes. ' John Burns and Co., 3rd award for Cameron steam pump for boilerfeeder, etc. John Burns and Co., Ist award for vertical mining double-plunger sinking pump, for getting rid of water during the sinking of a mine shaft. Hadley and Co., commended for litofuge compounds for the cleansing and preservation of steam boilers. John Burns and Co,, Tabor steam engine indicator for recording the average pressure of steam cylinders. .Approved for superior finish. W. A. Ryan and Co., commended for Tobin bronze propellers; workmanship good. W. G. AlcGee, Nelson, one model tobacco cutter; good design. TEA. Judges: Alessrs Alfred Walker, Chas. R. Gooch.—L. D. Nathan and Co., Ist award for Standard blended teas; exhibits of Indian and Ceylons for blending purposes, highly commended; Kearn, Younghusband and Co., blended teas, second award. H. AI. Smeetom third award for Colden Tip Ceylon Pekoe; only One exhibit. A. H. Nathan highly commended for packets.for the preservation of tea. COFFEE. Kearns Ybunghusband and Co., first award for coffees; L.-D. Nathan and Co., third award. St. George Preserving Works, Dunedin, per J. B. Alacfarlane, agent, coffee, commended. David Strang, Invercargill, commended for soluble coffee powder. .', PRESERVED MILK. Preserved milk, condensed (sweetened), and pastuerised (unsweetened), Ist award to W. T. Alurray and Co. H. Nestle (per A. H. Nathan, local agent), Ist award and gold medal. The judges reported that all brands of this milk were perfection itself. VINEGAR. No awards Were made.
