- -The American troops under General Otis displayed great enthusiasm and fearlessness in the encounter with the Filipinqs.
The-vessels of the American navy did splendid execution on the enemy's flanks.
Many of the insurgents were armed With Mauser rifles. They also brought into action a few field pieces and quick-firing guns;
