THE AUCKLNAD EXHIBITION, FURTHER AWARDS.
The following further awards have been made in connection with the Auckland Exhibition: — . HAMS AND BACON. Judges: Messrs Thos. AI. Quinn and R. Hellabv. Rolls,of Bacon.—T. H. Hall and Co., Ist award; Farmers' Co-operative Association (Christchurch), 2nd. Hams.—T. H. Hall and Co., Ist award; R. F. Lewis (Ashburton). 2nd; Farmers' Co-operative Association, 3rd. Sides of Bacon.—T. 11. Hall and Co. and R. F. Lewis (Ashburton) equal award of merit: Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, 2nd. SEWING MACHINES. Judges: Messrs John H. Scott, G. W. Heslop, S. McCoskrie. Singer Manufacturing Co., Ist award also special award for art work done by machines in judge's presence. Messrs W. Dennes and Sons withdrew their exhibit from competition. AMMUNITION. Judges: Major Morrow, Capt. Coyle and W. H. Hazard. Colonial Ammunition Company (Limited), Auckland, awarded Ist prize and gold medal. BLASTING FUSES. Patent safety blasting fuses for firing explosive charges under all conditions (manufactured by Messrs Bennett and Sons, Camborne, England). — John Burns and Co.. Auckland agent, DEFENCE DEPARTMENT. Government of New Zealand, highest award for guns and ammunition, small arms and ammunition, submarine /mining test and firiug-room, and Whitehead torpedo.
