AQUATICS
The following is the description of the Yachts, 5 rating and under, handicap, sailed at the Sydney Regatta on January 27, which resulted : Meteor, 3.5 rating (Dr. J. F. Elliott), scratch, 1 ;. Bronzewing, 2.5 rating ( H. M. Cockshott), 4min. 3 sec, 2 ; other entries were Pairlie, 3 rating- G. W. Bremner), 2min. 15sec. ; Kiawatha, 1.9 rating (A. Dendy), Cmin 50sec. ; Astroea, 2.5 rating (P. J. Vial), Smin. On the journey down to the Pile Light and back Meteor gradually overhauled her opponents, followed by Bronzewing and Fairlie. Flattening sheets for the close reach back to Shark Island, the times were :— Meteor, lh. 23min Osec. ; Bronzewing, lh. .C^niin. Usee. ; Fairlie, lh. 25min. Slsec. The leading yacht increased her advantage over the remainder of the course, and the Sydney lug -drew further away from Fairlie. At the finish the times were :—Meteor, 2h. Smin lOsec; Bronzewing, 2h. smin. 50see. ; Fairlie, 2h. Bmin. 35sec. The ex—New Zealander, which was well handled by Mr S. T. Wilson, had 2min. 4sec. to spare from Bronzewing.
