MASSES-WATSON'S BULL DOGS.

A sale of Mr Massey-Watson's effects took place yesterday afternoon at Churton and Co.'s auction mart, Queen-street. There was a crowded attendance, and the articles put up for auction found a ready sale. The mueh-talked-of champion bull clog Coeur-cle-Lion, which took first prize, champion prize and special prize at the last Auckland Kennel Club's show, was sold for £30 to Mr Harry Rickards. The dog is said to have cost Mr Massey-Watson £250 in Scotland. Mr Itickards also purchased for £30 the white bull terrier Crib, bred by the Earl of Monteith. The musical box, which cost its owner £ 170 in England, with a duty tax of £25 when he came to this colony, was knocked down for £17 10/ to Mr McLaughlan. An astrakhan greatcoat, valued at £3G, went for £4 10/, and about thirteen suits of clothes were sold at prices ranging from .17/ to 24/. A silver stop watch realised £G 10/, and some jewellery fetched fairly good prices: while a Cleveland bicycle brought £ 14, a good price for a se-cond-hand machine. A great variety of articles were sold, the proceeds amounting to about £150.
