Though it is anticipated Auckland will secure most of the championships, the second and third places will probably annex the banner. EJvring and Madill, of Auckland, under Skinner's care, have been doing great work, both at hammer throwing" and weight putting, as has Wilson in the walking events. It is expected Dunedin will score fifty-nine points and Auckland fifty-one. Kingston is in great nick, and though a slow beginner, should win both the 250y.ds and"' 440 yds events. In practice this week he cut out 200 yards in 21sec. Low may effect a. surprise in the quarter mile hurdles, which is the only event in which he will start. The weather promises to be fine and the track favoidable. Good times are being registered. Great interest is being manifested in the meeting.
