The floods in the Waimakariri have now quite subsided." it has been found that the principal damage has been done to the potato crop, of which a gon{] many acres were under water. A few acres of cereal crops have been entirety washed away, and a good deal of damage has been done to crops in stock and stack. The losses of stock are inconsiderable.
