ASSAULTS ON WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

DUNEDIX, this day. The Women's Franchise League Executive passed a resolution urging the Minister of Justice to institute an inquiry immediately into an alleged miscarriage of justice arising out of the recent assault case in North-east Valley, heard before two Justices, and asking the Minister to order that assaults on women and children be tried only by resident magistrates .
