MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.

Barrier Reefs.—The east end drive is in 217 feet. The reef is IS inches wide. More water is making. The west drift is in 190 feet. The quartz is at present 2 feet 0 inches wide, and promises to widen out. A little water is making. Favourable progress is being made on the road constructions to Whang-aparapara.

Alpha.—A start has been made with j the rise at the low level, and every- f thing is ready to be let by contract. Tenders have beeii called rettirnable on the 7th proximo. The rise is up six feet above the roof of the drive. The reef is coming together fast, and 1 the stone looks much better. s

Waitekauri King.—Finished repairs to low tunnel and have made a start again on the reef, and will save all the quartz brought out.
