Bunkers Hill. — Since resuming* operations the work of stoping- on the It-nder in the different faces lias been coni.>nued. No quartz has been taken rewn. Breaking- down will take place towards Ihe end of this week.

i\Vw (Jolconda.—During1 the holidays the machinery was overhauled and repaired where necessary in oz%dcr to get ready for sinking- upon the h.ader first, cut in No. 1 level where Mr Daldy g-ot a little gold. The leader and country both look well, and from the small leader or stringer several small stones carrying- rich coarse gold were obtained. When this junction with the main leader is in about 1;3 feet of driving, something good Tnay be expected.

Occidental.—Driving- operations in the A'orth Star low level are proceeding- and the hanging-wall of the reef is still beingcut into to ascertain if there is any more quartz ahead, but so far none has been discovered. A little more driving- will be done to make sure there is no other reef near, after which opening- oxit will take place on the Hague Smith reef. The country round the hanging-wall appears kindly sandstone intermixed with small mineral veins.

Iron Cap.—The reef in the contractors drive looks about the same as when last reported. In the top drive. towards the City of Auckland the reef is IS inches wide. Gold was seen in the stoiie. by pounding- ana washing-. The country is splendid.
