On December 7th a quantity of human bones were found on Babbit Island, about eight miles from the port of Nelson. Medical examination shows that the bones are those of a woman not less than 26 years old, and of a child, sex unknown, aged from nine to twelve. They were found *by some fishermen, partly embedded in the I: sand.' The doctor is of opinion that ; they had been there not less than 20 years. Old identities declare that a I family was drowned in the bay in M 1843, and buried on the island. It is i not improbable that these are their re- | mains. An inquest was held, when || an open verdict was returned.
