BRISBANE, January 8
Richard Burgess, aged 60. has been arrested at Dalby. charged with complicity in The Ga'tton murder. He has been * remanded for eight days. Pie offered a desperate resistance, and it Took four policemen To secure him. He was making across country, and refused to give an account of himself. During the Christmas holidays, fragments of a letter were found by a man named McXeil, near Gaiton. but they have been satisfactorily explained. Some pieces of dress materia] bearing bloody finger-marks have been found hidden in bushes, four miles north of the scene of the tragedy. The police have been further strengthened by contingents told off to thoroughly search different sections of the district. Burgess lias only recently been discharged from gaol for an attempted criminal assault. BRISBANE, this day. The man arresfed at Dalby had scratches on bis face, and bis clothing was blood stained.
