NORTH SHORE NATIVE REGATTA.
ARRIVAL OF MAORIS
This morning by the st.s. Clansman from Russell upwards of 50 Ngapuhi Maoris, including the Kaikohe Native Brass Band., arrived here to take part in the North Shore Native Regatta next week. They brought down two large canoes, the Omapere and Tawatawa. This afternoon 50 Wa ikato Maoris arrived by.train from Mercer, bringing down King Mahuta's large canoe Taheretikitiki. The rest of the Waikato Maoris (over a hundred) and their canoes (about 11) will arrive here to-morrow, and the rest of the Northern natives next week. A number of Kaipara natives have also arrived.
