PIANOFORTE RECITAL.
Mr Webbe and his pupils gave a pianoforte recital the same afternoon, to which as much attention was paid as the surrounding noises would permit. The programme included items by Henselt Tschaikowsky. Prout, etc. Miss Spooner's playing of the Scherzo in G flat, of Eh'einberger, was worthy of special mention, and what little could be heard of the Duo for organ and piano made one wish to hear this piece under more favourable circumstances.
The Musical Committee has decided to push forward the production of. "Moses in Egypt' as rapidly as possible. For next week- several attractive entertainments are being arranged, and on New Year's Eve, a special Scotch night. A wood-chopping competition is arranged for January 6th. These competitions have proved big draws at Exhibitions all over the colony. Season-ticket holders who have not yet got their photographs are reminded that from Saturday mpraing they will not be admitted to the Exhibition unless their photographs are attached to their tickets.
