OHINEMURI SYNDICATE.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)
This company are pushing ahead both their crosscuts from the shaft, that to the east being now in 40ft. A change in the ptound came in this morning, nice brown • sandstone making in the face, and the Annie lode is expected to be met at the beginning of next week. In the western drive the face is in 368 feet and the lode fcnown as No. 4 has just been passed through, proving to be five feet wide. A few colours of gold can be got in the dish from this lode. Driving on the course of the Smile of Fortune xeef has also been started in order to get underneath the old workings. Driving is also in progress in the same direction, that isnorth, on another lode lying to the east of the Smile reef. In both "these reefs a little gold is following the drives in. It is also noteworthy that all these lod.es are apparently making together going north-
wards The No. 4 reef especially seems to come towards the Smile of Fortune.
