RESIGNATION OF THE BRITISH

The 'Joi Karanga' of the 9th inst. published at Rarotonga, says:—'Just before going to press last evening we were informed that Mr P. J. Moss, the British Resident, had written to Queen Makea. Chief of the Government, resigning his position as adviser to the Cook Islands Government. Queen Makea has accepted the resignation." The" eighth session of 'the Cook Islands Government opened at Rarotonga early this month. Pending the expected decision on the petition praying for the removal of Mr Moss as Administrator of the Government, which was sent by Parliament to the Governor of New Zealand some months ago, no business was done further than the reading of the Opening Address, and the House adjourned till the 14th inst.
