THE WHITIANGA FATALITY.
An inquest on the bodies of William and Martha Pou, the two Maoris drowned in the recent boating accident at Whitianga, Mercury Bay, was held on the 24th inst at Whaukaho. A verdict of "accidentally drowned" was returned in each case. Pou's body was found on the morning of the inquest by his brother-in-law, on the beach at Ohokaotoi, three miles from the scene of the disaster.
