LICENSING COMMITTEE DEADLOCK.

DUNEDIN, this day.
A deadlock has occurred on the Wakatipu licensing bench, owing to the refusal of the Chairman, Mr McArthy, S.M., to grant a conditional license for a sports meeting. The Committee protest against one man vetoing the action of five elected members of committee, and threaten to refuse to sit unless the Chairman gives way. Representations on the subject have been made to the Colonial Secretary.
