CHARGES OP ADULTERATION.

LONDON, April 29.

A deputation, of leading importers and distributer^,:'of colonial butter waited upon, the Australian AgentsGeneral regarding pending prosecutions for use of boracic acid in preserving butter. They requested . the Agents-General to ask the British Board of Trade to stay further proceedings in the prosecutions institutedl by Glamorgan County Council against persons' engaged in the Australasian butter trade until such time as experts had had an'oppoi'tuuity of making ail investigation in connection with the charges, and fixing a standard for the whole country. Sir Andrew rClarkei the Victorian Agent-General, on behalf of the other agents, assui'ed the deputation of their "sympathy and promised to represent as strongly as possible the views advanced by the deimtation to the Government.
