DIFFICULTY AT THE RIMUTAKA,

WELLINGTON, this day.
Referring to the block in the traffic batween Wellington and Napier, the "limes says:-" It is as well to face the truth, ana the fact is the Government has attemptea an impossible task. The Rimutaka nic me is blamed by the authorities, but the inclinewill be there tor years, and should lia\e been taken into account. Going over ii> the whole available engine power is sometimes used, with the result that fumesitroro the coal put out the lamps and almost choke the passengers. The Government ought to take fulf advantage of the Manawatu line and get traffic out of the bottle in which it is placed."
