ROBBERY FROM AN HOTEL.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
TIMARU, this day.
Ten days ago the licensee of the Ship Hotel was robbed of £16 from clothes in his bedroom. A lodger named Casey was arrested, and charged with the crime, but no evidence was available, and he was discharged last Monday. He was arrested again last night at St. Andrew's for creating a disturbance, and Constable Crawford recovered a plant made by the prisoner comprising, it is believed, part of the'money stolen from the ship. Some nqtes are said to be identifiable by the licensee." His mate had a bundle of skeleton keys. Both were remanded on these charges and each sentenced to 3 months for the disturbance.
