Woodstock.
£3,187 FOR THE MONTH.
WET PROCESS A SUCCESS.
The return for the past four weeks from this mine is very satisfactory, a less quantity of ore having yielded a larger amount of bullion. The return, however, includes the 2'i tons of ore treated at Messrs Fraser and Son's plant. The total of ore crushed during the month was 1,018 tons, which yielded bullion valued at £3,187, giving an average value per ton of £3 2s 7d. Last month's yield was £3,171 from 1,020 tons. Further experiments with the wet process are resulting very satisfactorily. In the second vat of 29 tons treated the extraction by the cyanide process was 94 per cent, of gold and 60 per cent, of silver, .and the consumption of cyanide 21b per ton. There is every prospect of further improvement in the extraction. The generally received opinion is that no time will be lost by the change from dry to wet, as the latter promises to be mucli cheaper and more efficient in every way.
