We ottered a medium catalogue of hides, skins, tallow, etc. at our weekly sale on Tuesday. Hides.—All lines of stout ox were keenly competed for, and cow hides maintained late rates, but sheety ox were much slower of sale, at a slight reduction in values. On the basis of sales made we quote : —
Prime stout ox, sjd to G-M ; heavy stout, 4J-d to 5.', d ; light and medium, 3id to 4d ; cow hides, 3|-d to Sid ; kip, 2;, Mto 3Ad ; calf, sor.:,:d, Ijd to s_jd ; dry, to Bid. Sheepskins were a shade easier, and we sold medium longwools, 4s 3d to 5s 3d; smail 2s lid to 4s; pelts, lOd to Is Id; lambs, b to ),s 5d ; dry skins, 4d to 9d. •Tallow. -We sold medium rendered lis b'd to 12s %(\ : picked for tanners' use to 16s (id.
Horsehair is worth Is to Is Sid ; cow hair, 9d to lOd.
Bones.—£3 5s to £3 7s Gd
Horns.—6s to 15s per 100. Oats.—Market continues very firm, but immediate requirements are small and uot much business is being done. Present price, 2s 1-Ad to 2s 2d, c.i.f. Maize.—Market has advanced considerably since last week's quotations, sales being made freely for Sydney at 2s sd. Chaff. —Quantity held in store has been much reduced. Stocks are again getting light, but as new chaff will shortly be coming into the market buying is very limited; last week's quotations of £4 to £4 ss, at railway, still hold good. The dry weather being experienced throughout the colony must shorten supplies and harden values during the coining winter.
