G. W. Binney and Sons report :—On Tuesday we .cleared a good catalogue of hides, sheepskins, tallow, bones, and hair. Hides: Competition good and prices freely maintained. We quote—Picked ox, up to 7d; extra stout, s_i to 6d; stout, 4£d to od ; medium, 3Jd to 4d: light, *W to 3Jd; cow, best lines 3§d to 3£d, medium 3d. inferior 2*d to 2id; kip, 3d to 3id; calf, well flayed, 4jd to sid: stags, ljd to 2}d per lb; oainaged at nominal figures. Sheepskins: prices easier; picked longwools, up to 5s 8d : oromary, i a 6d to os; crossbreds, (a to 4s6d;

half-breds, 3s to Is; pelts, salted lOd to Is Id, dry 6d to lOd; lambs, Is 3d to 2s; bulk at Is 6d. Tallow: Prices range from lis 6d to 12s 6d for good lots; picked for tanners' use, up to 16s; inferior, 9s to 10s per cwt; no shipping parcels offering. Hair : Cow tails, Is 3d per dozen ; cow hair, 9d to lOd ; horse, up to Is Id per lb.

Mr R. Arthur reports very good business this week, especially'for the Christmas trade, Fresh butter sold from 5d to 7Ad lb ; eggs, Od to 9d doz.; cheese, 2id to 3£d ; Canterbury hams, Sd to BJd; bacon, 6kl; local bacon, Id to sid; hams, 6id to 7Jd ; shoulders, 3d to _tjd lb. Kidney potatoes, 5s 6d to 7s 6d cwt; other sorts, 4s to ss. Onions, |d to Id lb ; pumpkins, os 6d cwt. Fruit : Apples, 2s 6d to 3s 6d per case; pears, 2d to 21d lb; lemons, Id to 7d doz.; Island oranges, 15s to 20s crate ; cherry plums, -Id to 4kl; black plums, 2£d to 3id; red currants, 3d to (id lb; tomatoes, Id to 5d ; walnuts, Od to 6_.d; grapes, Is 6d to 2s. Pines arrived in bad condition and realised very low prices. Poultry: Turkey-gobblers, 5s to 6s; ducks, 2s Gd to Is; ducklings, (id to Is 3d ; ducks.
