TAILORESSES UNION.

At a meeting of the Tailoresses Union, held last evening- in the Taiiore3ses Hall, satisfaction was expressed at the result of the recent Conciliation cases, the decision of the Board being considered fair and equitable. It was agreed, "That the earnest effort of both employers and those employed should now be directed towards making the new arrangement a source of common benefit. A vote of thanks, moved on behalf of the members by Miss McKenzie, to the Hon. Mr Jennings, Mrs Hendre and the girls who had attended the sittings of the Board, was carried unanimously, Miss McKenzie stating that they were not only pleased at the services rendered, but were |as well very proud of the quiet, dignified : way in wliien they had been rendered. lOn behalf of Mr Jennings and herself Mrs I Hendre thanked the members for their | kindly appreciation of the efforts put forth, and especially for the forethought which prompted so graceful a recognition. A deputation was received from the Tailors' Union, asking consideration for a proposal to the effect that girls working in order shops bs induced to adopt a modified " log" already agreed upon in the men's Union. It was finally agreed to meet in conference over the desirability or otherwise of adopting the proposal, snob cotiference to be held in the Tailoresses'-Hrt.il on Monday evening next.
