KAURI GUM MARKET.
MONTHLY REPORT.
Prices have been well maintained throughout" the month, notwithstanding the high level reached. This is due to the fact that supplies are absorbed as they come in so that no stock has accumulated. Buyers are not so eager to secure lines as they were earlier in the month, but holders decline to give any concession to eil'ccfc sales. Now that the. summer has set in, supplies of poor quality should increase as the diggers will leave the hills and take to the swamps where possible. The exports for the month are :—To New York: Per Clan Macleod, 587 tons ; per Waimate, via London, 37 tons. To London: Per Anglian, 23 tons; per Waimate, S2 tons ; per Rimutaka, 38 tons. Total, 767 tons. Supplies from mail to mail are about 541 tons. We quote prices as follows : — Poor ordinary £38 to £4/5 Fair ordinary £50 to £80 Good ordinary... ... ... £65 to £75 Superior ordinary £75 to £84 East Coast £72 Rcscraped £90 to £100 Good rescraped £110 up. .
