On the second day the hunting competitions for ladies and gentlemen were keenly watched. For best gentleman rider over fences Mr V. Meagher was placed first, Mr C. , Bridson second and Mr M. Eriggs third. For best lady rider Mrs Kelly and Miss Amy Taylor (Mangere) were bracketed for first place, Miss Pilkington was 2)laced second, and Miss Sellars was a close third.

Thirteen took part in the leaping match for boys' ponies. This was won by H. Barr, J. Paterson being second and M. Chaafc third.

In the butter-making competition, the entries -were Mrs A. Williams, Miss Z. Wood and Mr Leo. Wood. The judges were Messrs T. W. Jones (Auckland) and John Allen (Waingaro). Miss Woods carried oil" first prize and Mrs Williams second prize.

The results of the weight-guessing comEctitions at the Auckland Agricultural how are announced. The actual weight of the bullock exhibited was 9741b, and the competition was won by A. T. Close, whose estimate of the weight was 976£1b. James Hall was second with 9801b, and other close calculations were S. M. Westney 9671b, and Mr Inder 9G4lb. The actual "weight of the cow was 8111b, this competition being won by Messrs Claude and Elleth, M rhose estimate was Sl2ilb, W. Robson being second with 8081b. James Forrest's guess was 8071b, A. Seccombe 8151b, W. Gollan 8071b. The actual weight of the sheep was 2371b. F. B. Parsons guessed the exact weight, and won the prize. J. Sampson was second with 2351b, J. J. Graham 2401b, and G. Morrison 2341b.
